I am pleased to present to you a Linux distribution that I had in my mind for a while and was able to release it recently. The distribution is called iQunix OS and it is an Ubuntu based distribution. It is pronounced as i-qu-nix (iqunix_pronounce), and the focuses (or at least it tries to) on the respect that a simple *nix oriented operating system that should have on the intelligence (iq) of the end-user

Με χαρά και ενθουσιασμό θέλω να σας παρουσιάσω μια διανομή που είχα στο μυαλό μου να υλοποιήσω αρκετό καιρό και το ολοκλήρωσα μόλις πρόσφατα. Η διανομή ονομάζεται iQunix OS και είναι ένα Linux λειτουργικό σύστημα που βασίζεται στο Ubuntu. Προφέρεται ως Αϊ-κιούνιξ και το όνομά του εστιάζει στον σεβασμό που πρέπει να έχει ένα απλό unix’οειδές λειτουργικό στη νοημοσύνη (iq) του τελικού χρήστη
After a month of delay, for testing purposes, I am releasing the new version of 2Click Update (2cu) and 2cuCORE. This version is a result of collaboration and contribution by the community. I have to thank Nathan Douglas and Mark Obad for their contribution to the code of this version and the translations provided by the launchpad community.
After publishing the 5.5.version of 2click Update, it got an unexpected attention by the community. Many referral links, reviews, code contribution, translations and some emails pointing in one general question:

I am pleased to announce that 2click Update version 5.5 of 5.X series is out. In this major release the entire structure of code has changed. The code is structured in a modular way so that every feature is just a module. Also a new feature is available that will automatically boost the downloading of upgrades in a way that traditional apt-get cannot. The new module is called Speed-apt.

Not so long ago in WebUpd8 I came across with Axel, a simple piece of software that tries to accelerate HTTP/FTP downloading process by using multiple connections for one file. It can use multiple mirrors for a download. Axel has no dependencies and is lightweight, so it might be useful as a wget clone on byte-critical systems. Continue reading
Urgent Bug Fix Release and two more languages added :
a) Fixed Bug affecting all previous releases : This bug prevents 2clickUpdate to show messages in user defined language even if user has copied the language pack of his/her choice.
