Πρώτα σχέδια του Ubuntu σε κινητά και tablet
Δεν πέρασαν μερικές μέρες απο την ανακοίνωση οτι το Ubuntu 14.04 (2014) προετοιμάζεται να μπει και στην αγορά των mobile συσκευών, ήδη η ομάδα ανάπτυξης έχει αρχίσει να ετοιμάζει τα πρώτα σχέδια στα οποία θα συζητηθεί το τελικό αποτέλεσμα.

Η Nokia ανακοίνωσε ότι πουλάει το εμπορικό τμήμα των δραστηριοτήτων της που βασίζεται στην τεχνολογία Qt . Δεδομένης της αλλαγής στη στρατηγική της εταιρείας αυτό μάλλον ήταν αναμενόμενο να συμβεί. Με την κίνηση αυτή, η Microsoft και η Nokia, θα ενισχύσουν τη συνεργασία τους για την ολοκλήρωση των μεταξύ τους στόχων που έχουν θέση. Η Microsoft θα αποτελεί, πωλητή λογισμικού/λειτουργικού που θα παρέχει Mobile λειτουργικό σύστημα και η Nokia θα είναι ο βασικότερος καταναλωτής της. Continue reading

Οι περισσότεροι διαθέτουν πολλαπλούς λογαριασμούς για να επικοινωνήσουν με τους φίλους τους μέσω internet (chat). Ο λόγος που συμβαίνει αυτό είναι συνήθως επειδή οι φίλοι μας είτε διαθέτουν διαφορετικούς λογαριασμούς και είναι εξοικειωμένοι με αυτούς, είτε επειδή λόγο ασυμβατότητας συσκευών (υπολογιστές, κινητά, λειτουργικά συστήματα κλπ.) έχουμε λογαριασμούς παντού για να επικοινωνούμε με πολλούς διαφορετικούς τρόπους. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι να έχουμε συνήθως 2-3 διαφορετικά προγράμματα εγκατεστημένα στο σύστημά μας και ανοιχτά όλα μαζί για να είμαστε καλυμμένοι από κάθε άποψη. Δεν θα ήταν όμως καλύτερα να έχουμε έναν τρόπο να έχουμε όλους τους διαφορετικούς messenger σε ένα περιβάλλον ; Δηλαδή να έχουμε έναν messenger για chat και video-κλήσεις που να συνδέεται με όλους τους λογαριασμούς ταυτόχρονα και να μην χρειάζεται ούτε νέα εγγραφή ούτε εγκατάσταση ; Continue reading

History, ironically, tends to repeat its self. This may be old news in political, economical or historical events but what happens in Hardware/Software industry ?.
While I was reading some articles on the web about the market share of mobile OS’s today/tomorrow, a “pattern” started to emerge before my eyes. There is something in this pattern that indicates what mobile OS will have the major market share maybe 2 years from now, or sooner. As I predict, near future of mobile phones will belong to Android Linux operating system.
Ok that may have sound like foolish… but please be patient and let me (try) explain what are the historical similarities between the war of IBM-Apple then, and Apple(iOS)-Google(Android) now and how will probably be the end of this fight over the market share pie chart.
