After a month of delay, for testing purposes, I am releasing the new version of 2Click Update (2cu) and 2cuCORE. This version is a result of collaboration and contribution by the community. I have to thank Nathan Douglas and Mark Obad for their contribution to the code of this version and the translations provided by the launchpad community.
After publishing the 5.5.version of 2click Update, it got an unexpected attention by the community. Many referral links, reviews, code contribution, translations and some emails pointing in one general question:

I am pleased to announce that 2click Update version 5.5 of 5.X series is out. In this major release the entire structure of code has changed. The code is structured in a modular way so that every feature is just a module. Also a new feature is available that will automatically boost the downloading of upgrades in a way that traditional apt-get cannot. The new module is called Speed-apt.

Not so long ago in WebUpd8 I came across with Axel, a simple piece of software that tries to accelerate HTTP/FTP downloading process by using multiple connections for one file. I am pleased to announce the availability of a new series 5.x, the 5.1 version of 2clickUpdate. With this release I am trying a new approach internally (in terms of code) and structurally that will lead to a better expandable and maintainable software. Its possible that until the version 6, code will be changed in 90% by rewriting it from scratch.

Notification Balloons :
Now, a cool new balloon will notify you that your system is under maintenance. In future release there could be more informative balloons….
Dependency installer :
In 5.x series, you will notice that there is a special script that does what it says. It will automatically install all the dependencies of 2clickUpdate without the need to search for them in your package manager. In future releases I hope that this script will do more.
Contributors :
From now on, there is a special file called CONTRIBUTORS that will include in a centralized way, the names of people that contributed in any way to 2clickUpdate and helped me to made it better.
As you can see the 5.x series is more than just a new release, is the beginning of a new approach and personal knowledge expansion.
